From the very beginning, the history or Caroni Spa has been marked by its success in achieving a series of increasingly challenging objectives. as in sports, each challenge is a stimulus and each victory a stage of a journey. For this reason Caroni loves and supports sport The company is, in fact, one of the sponsors of Brebanca Lannutti Cuneo, the Cuneo volley ball team. a connection we have had for years, sustained by the commitment and passion for teamwork which we both share. We’re of similar ages, too Caroni was founded in 1954 and the Cuneo Volley Ball Club, as it was called then, in 1958 the company and the team have both followed the path of competitions and successes - often difficult, but always conducted with professionalism and rigour, leading us both to prominent positions in our respective fields. In the B league from 1975, the team was promoted to the A2 league in 1988, and was already in the A1 league by the end of the 1988-89 season. Early on, the team was successful against some of the biggest names in volley ball, and in the 1995-1996 season joined the “golden list” of winners of the Coppa Italia and the Coppa CEV. It also topped the Regular Season league, although it lost the tricolour trophy to Sisley Treviso in the fifth round of the play-off. The next season Apitour Traco was again successful, and the 97/98 season the well-trained team celebrated its victory in Belgium against Modena, winning the European supercup, while in Cuneo it won the Cupwinner’s Cup against Greek team Olympiakos Pireo. In the 1998-99 championship the team won the Coppa Italia in a historical 3-0 win over the famous Sisley team. The 2002 saw further successes: in February the team won the Coppa Italia for the third time with a spectacular 3-0 defeat of Trento, earning a place in the Champions’ League. And a month later repeated its success in the Coppa CEV, crowning its European achievements.
In January 2006 the Italian cup (Coppa Italia) is back in Cuneo after a great well-deserved victory, by beating Copra Berni Piacenza in the final 3 - 1.
From season to season, through several name changes from ALPITOUR to TNT ALPITOUR, NOICOM ALPITOUR, then NOICOM BREBANCA to the current BREBANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO but the same determination, the team has increasingly conquered the enthusiasm of the public. We hope we will share in many more future successes.
